It has been a crazy year for me since I am graduating soon while also working at not one – but two – internships this semester. Brilliant idea, right? NOT. At the time it didn’t seem like a crazy idea and NOW I keep asking myself, “What were you thinking?!” Anyways, I’m glad to be getting back on track with the latest trend taking over the fashion industry; oversized everything – jackets, coats, jeans, tees – the more not your size, the better. I’ll be honest and tell you, not everyone can rock this – sometimes even I can’t – but it’s a comfortable trend let me tell you that! It is now publicly acceptable to go out with an oversized hoodie and jeans on and I am here for it.
Today, I’ll be showing you guys my 2 favorite oversized jackets that I’ve used to embrace this trend. The camo look is definitely more street style while the denim jacket look is street + chic.
This oversized distressed denim jacket from Windsor (size S) is the perfect layering piece for Spring/Summer. The rustic blue color gives off the perfect street style vibe and it can be tied around your waist if the weather gets too hot yet still be an accessory. I always like to double (sometimes triple) fold the cuffs of all my jackets, mostly because if I don’t then my watches are covered. It also adds an edgy touch that is subtle yet noticeable. I paired the jacket with my MissGuided Guns’N’Roses tee (size S) and my H&M black jeans with strappy black heels from JustFab. Oh & those oversized sunnies (see how I’m really sticking to theme here?) are Quay Australia x Desi Perkins and they’re always sold out BUT they just restocked and have new designs coming soon #yourewelcome. These High Key sunnies have been my absolute favorite and only pair of sunglasses I have worn in months. My friends make fun of me because of how large they look on my face but they also cannot deny how fly they are.
This camouflage jacket, also from Windsor (size S), is way more oversized than my denim. I didn’t know if I could pull it off when I tried it on but after I styled it, it definitely came together. The faux leather tee is from Ann Taylor but I have also seen them at Forever21 and H&M. My combat boots are from Shoedazzle. Lowkey, maybe high key, I been peeped… that you like those sunnies. OK, so my future as a rapper isn’t that bright but that Drake reference though! Yes, they’re also from the Quay Australia x Desi Perkins collection in the color black and they really pull this look together.
