Having the right concealer is a major key to making sure your face paint is on fleek, especially for those of us who don’t get enough sleep at night. I have tried and tested so many concealers throughout the years but the three I’m about to share with you guys have yet to fail me and always have my makeup looking flawless.
(I’m in the shade 1.5). This concealer is pigmented, creamy goodness. You need a dot, maybe two, to conceal/highlight your under eye area. The consistency is pretty thick, however it brightens and highlights the key areas of the face, blends seamlessly, and doesn’t crease throughout the day! I purchased this on Black Friday last November and it’s safe to say the jar will last me for the rest of the year. I use this concealer for weddings or days when I want to do a heavy glam.
Tip: Be sure to always close/seal the jar when you’re done using the product so that it doesn’t dry out.
My recent favorite is the…
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, $25
(I’m in the shade Light-Medium). This concealer is LIFE CHANGING. I had heard about the hype when they were marketing the product and the hype continued after they launched so I finally decided to give in and try it out for myself. I mean, could a concealer really be that amazing? The answer is yes. Yes it can.
I can’t even describe how lightweight, creamy, and easy-to-blend the formula is — not to mention it sets so beautifully. It looks like my skin, it doesn’t cake, and I love adding a dot underneath my cheekbone to clean my contour up. I’m waiting for the nearby ULTA to restock the shade DEEP because I think this will be an amazing cream contour. I purchased this about 2 weeks ago and I haven’t touched another concealer of mine since. If I had to choose one concealer to use forever from this day forward – it would be Shape Tape, sorry Anastasia!
Last but not least, if you’re ballin’ on a budget, don’t worry – I gotcha.
(I’m in the shade Sand). This concealer is the perfect dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. And get this, the Maybelline concealer is actually creamier and easier to blend. I love the NARS concealer but I find that I have to apply it in one area and blend very soon after because it dries so quickly. In NARS I am in the shade Custard and in Maybelline I am in the shade Sand – when swatched side by side you can’t even tell which is which. This concealer is my go-to for my quick glam days and it does the job. I love a strong under eye highlight and unfortunately, this doesn’t give me that but it does conceal my slightly dark circles so if you’re looking for a cheap, light coverage option – this is definitely a steal!
