Candy by Nature: Honey Baked Plums The "indulge in seconds" type of dessert

My sweet tooth has been on high lately. It could be because it was “that time” of the month, stress, being sick, or just a combination of everything. I have also been trying to eat things to help rebuild a stronger immune system so when I saw new seasonal fruits popping up at my local grocery store, I was all over it. Attracted by the cold, dark, deep, and juicy nature’s candy, I ended up buying a bag of plums. One thing I forgot was that I have a strange allergy to certain “uncooked” fruits such as peaches, apples, and – you guessed it – plums! This lead me to the creation of a delicious mouth-watering dessert: Honey Baked Plums with a side of Greek yogurt.

Ingredients:

Baking tray or ramekin dish

1 whole plum (cut in half, pit removed)

1-2 teaspoons of pure honey (I used Tahi Manuka Honey)

1 tablespoon of vanilla greek yogurt (I used Siggi Vanilla Greek Yogurt)

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 400°F. Wash, dry and cut the plum in half. Discard the pit. Place plum on a baking dish and drizzle honey all over it. Pop it in the oven for about 30 minutes. Once it is done, let it cool for a few minutes and then add a side scoop of the Greek yogurt. You can indulge a little extra with this low-calorie dessert by sprinkling on some walnuts, pecans or pistachios. This can be a great easy, unique, healthy and satisfying dessert to make during a small dinner party, too!
